Health coaching for regular people.
Why should you get a Health Coach?
In a world where everything is searchable by smartphone and there’s no shortage of health advice, why should you hire a health coach? It is a good question, and one I hear a lot.
Much like the average American diet, the internet is full of garbage.
Ask the internet what constitutes a healthy diet and you’ll get served everything from eating raw meat like a wild animal to miracle pills that will melt away your fat. The problem is the internet is a catch-all of subjectivity polluted with bad advice selling you a fast result instead of lifestyle change. These health plans are not created with you in mind - they are created to get as many clicks and followers as possible. Much like a square peg in a round hole, you can’t force yourself into a random plan created for millions and expect meaningful change.
Health coaches are different.
We help you achieve your wellness goals by providing guidance, support, and accountability. We create personalized plans that take into account your unique needs, preferences, and circumstances. In other words, we work together. Unlike an Instagram post with a corny quote, we can actually give you one-on-one encouragement to help you stay on track and make positive changes that can improve your overall health and well-being. By working with a health coach, you gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make sustainable lifestyle changes that can have a lasting impact on your health.
The health coach designed to get “fired”
If I do my job, you’ll be armed with the confidence, results, and habits to continue a healthy lifestyle without me. That is the entire point. Health is not a pill or a fad diet. It is a lifestyle change that results in lasting changes built upon new behaviors, habits, and knowledge.
The Human Behind Only Human
I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, an ACE Fitness Nutrition Specialist, and an AFPA Certified Health and Wellness Coach residing in the Greater Charlotte area with my wife Maria, and Corgi Hobbes. A family tragedy started my interest in physical and mental health, but it wasn’t until I found myself 40 lbs overweight that I decided to do something about it. I learned everything I could about sustainable and healthy weight loss and the benefits of small changes and habit-forming. Within two years I found myself in the best shape of my life, with a passion to help others achieve the same goal.
I am an avid cyclist, runner, and outdoor lover. Once I found myself in better shape I entered several races and was blessed to be on the winning mixed relay team at the 2019 New River Trail Challenge Triathlon. This event truly showed me what consistent training could do for my health and strength. I next went on to finish 1st in the 24-hour two-man relay at North Carolina’s Psycho48 race in October 2023. Recently I finished first in the 2024 Mooresville Fondo 25-mile race. Despite having success in these events, I am most proud of my consistency, coaching, and dedication to a healthier lifestyle. The success in events have just been a nice byproduct of the hard work!
Next up in 2025 - a marathon and 70.3 Ironman race! I would love to help you achieve your goals this year!
